Got questions?
Well, we’ve got answers

An Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) is a highly trained nutrition professional with at least 4 years of university education. APDs are qualified to provide expert nutrition advice and dietary guidance to individuals, groups, and organizations.

As Accredited Practising Dietitians, we have completed extensive university education in nutrition science and are recognised by the Australian government for providing evidence-based nutrition advice. Nutritionists may have varying levels of education, while naturopaths focus on alternative medicine approaches. While each profession has its merits, APDs are uniquely qualified to provide medical nutrition therapy and are the only nutrition professionals recognised by Medicare for nutrition consultations.

Our APD offers personalised nutrition consultations, meal planning, dietary advice, and wellness coaching to help you achieve your health goals. We specialize in evidence-based nutrition interventions for various health conditions and lifestyle needs.

Yes, we create customised meal plans based on your nutritional needs, preferences, and lifestyle. Our meal plans are designed to help you achieve your health goals while enjoying delicious, balanced meals. Each day’s plan consists of 3 meals and 2 snacks with exact portions, recipes, and a list of products to buy.

Results vary for each individual. On average, if a person is adhering to the plan, they can lose anywhere between 0.5-1.5 kg/week. However, this depends on various factors such as adherence, hormonal imbalance, and exercise. Some people notice changes within a few weeks, while others may take longer. Consistency and adherence to the plan are key factors in achieving your goals.

Yes, we offer both in-person and online consultations for your convenience. Our virtual consultations provide the same high-quality nutrition advice and personalised care as our face-to-face appointments. For online appointments specifically for meal plans, payment needs to be made prior to the appointment or delivery of the plan.

For online initial consultations, we understand that you may still want to benefit from our InBody scan. If required, we can schedule a quick 10-minute appointment for you to come in and complete the body scan. This brief in-person visit can be arranged at a time convenient for you, either before or after your online consultation. Just let us know when booking your online appointment, and we’ll be happy to accommodate this additional service.

Our APD offers personalised nutrition consultations, meal planning, dietary advice, and wellness coaching to help you achieve your health goals. We specialize in evidence-based nutrition interventions for various health conditions and lifestyle needs.

Yes, our APD can assist with various dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other specific requirements or food intolerances. We provide tailored nutrition advice to suit your individual needs.

Initial consultations typically last 60 minutes, while follow-up sessions are usually 30-45 minutes. This allows us to thoroughly assess your nutritional needs and develop a personalised plan.

During your first appointment, we’ll discuss your health history, current lifestyle, and nutrition goals. This will be the pathway to developing an optional personalised meal plan and dietary strategy tailored to your specific needs.

Yes, Medicare rebates are available for eligible clients. Under a Chronic Disease Management plan, you can access up to 5 allied health services per calendar year, including dietitian consultations.

The current Medicare rebate for dietetic services under a Chronic Disease Management plan is approximately $60.35 per consultation.

We will process your Medicare claim after your appointment and payment. The rebate will be paid directly into your nominated bank account by Medicare. Please ensure your bank details are up to date with Medicare.

Many private health insurance funds cover dietetic consultations. The amount you can claim depends on your level of cover. We recommend contacting your health fund directly to check your eligibility and the rebate amount available to you.

Our APD can develop a personalised weight management plan that includes nutritional advice, meal planning, and lifestyle recommendations. We focus on sustainable, evidence-based approaches to help you achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

To ensure accurate results from your InBody scan:

Do not eat or drink 1 to 2 hours before your scan appointment

Avoid exercising 1 to 2 hours before your scan

Do not shower immediately before the scan

Wear light clothes and try to wear the same or similar clothes for all future scan appointments

Use the bathroom before your scan

Note: InBody scans are NOT suitable for pregnant women or individuals with pacemakers or similar electronic implanted devices

The actual scan is completed in 45 seconds. We use an advanced Inbody 570 Body scanner. However, your appointment will last approximately 15 minutes to allow time for explanation and discussion of your results.

Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for packages due to a change of mind. We encourage you to discuss any concerns with your dietitian before committing to a package, as our programs require significant preparation and effort. We’re happy to address any questions you may have before you make your decision.

The cost of our dietitian consultations varies depending on the service and consultation type. For the most up-to-date pricing information, please visit our website at santebysana.com.au/prices.

You don’t need a referral to book an appointment with us. However, if you want to claim a Medicare rebate, you’ll need a referral from your GP under a Chronic Disease Management plan.

The number of sessions varies depending on your individual goals and progress. We’ll discuss this during your initial consultation and adjust as needed.

We kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee.

Please come prepared with any recent medical test results, a list of current medications or supplements, and a 3-day food diary if possible.
